My interpretation of the Wheel of fortune, the 10th Tarot card, which symbolizes change, the end of a cycle and the new beginning of another one. I’ve drawn a one year calendar inside the wheel to visualize that time is not linear but cyclical. The image represents also the sun, a reminder of our connection with the cycles of nature, that we seem to have forgotten. The temporal position of events with respect to the transitory present is continually changing. The wheel symbolizes completeness as well as the rise and fall of fortunes and the message that what goes around comes around.
10 is the number of completion in most systems, it represents perfection, completion and fulfillment. At the Mayas, it represents the end of a cycle and the beginning of another. The ten was regarded as being the number of the life and the death. For Pythagoras, 10 was the symbol of the universe and it also expressed the whole of human knowledge
I’m selling this drawing as the first item at my brand new Etsy Shop! This is an 60×80 cm drawing. This is the ORIGINAL item and not a print! It’s a one of a kind and its value will only increase with time. The drawing is not framed, but I can framed it if you need or I can suggest you a frame style.
