Excited to announce that the *2019* calendar is ready! For the sixth year in a row, I’m happy to continue offering this creation.
I started to draw circular calendars in 2012 as a way to understand time and search new ways to visualize it. The conventional calendars measure time in a linear and progressive way. The model is highly deterministic linear thinking, as well reductionist since it breaks down the total into smaller pieces, reducing interactions between them. The whole is composed of independent parts. The linear model is now contradictory, since we know that our universe is basically made up of nonlinear systems in the physical, biological, psychological and social levels.
This year I made a design inspired by the image of the Queen of hearts. I liked to introduce the image of a woman and integrate the moon calendar as a predominant element creating a shape similar to a mandala. As the last three years, this calendar can be also colored with pencils or markers.
I have printed a limited edition of 100 copies on high quality paper. It will make a nice decorative item and also an illustration to personalize coloring it day by day.
